German transmitter network operator Media Broadcast has awarded Belgravia with the exclusive mandate to sell its radio infrastructure assets comprising more than 1,000 antennas across Germany.
This is reported by Mergermarket with reference to two sources close to the situation, adding that Media Broadcast is in talks with potential bidders and would welcome approaches. The objective is to conclude the process by the end of 2017.
Media Broadcast announced the decision to sell its FM aerials and transmitters to focus on digital growth areas and services, in particular DVB-T2 and DAB+, in February 2017.
The move followed Media Broadcast’s acquisition by Freenet Group in March 2016 which is said to have mainly been interested in the company’s DVB-T2 business to gain a foothold in the TV market, but considered the FM assets to be non-core.
