Viacom rebrands Nickelodeon into Nick in Germany again

June 29, 2017 01.38 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Viacom International Media Networks has renamed its children’s channel Nickelodeon into the short form Nick again in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

At the same time, a new on-air and off-air design has been introduced.

“Nickelodeon has established itself as a children’s channel in the market in the past 12 years. Everyone knows Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon is the good friend, the sort of person you like to call by his nickname,” said Steffen Kottkamp, Director Kids & Family at Viacom International Media Networks.

The umbrella brand will continue to be Nickelodeon. It will be visible, for example, at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
