The Irish government has given the go ahead to 21st Century Fox’s £11.7 billion takeover of Sky.
The approval from the Irish minister for communications, climate action and environment, Denis Naughton, follows similar decisions from the authorities in Austria, Germany and Italy.
UK culture minister Karen Bradley is expected to give her verdict on the matter later this week.
Ms Bradley will decide whether to refer the proposed deal to the Competition & Markets Authority for a ‘Phase Two’ inquiry.
