Sky is taking a £4.5 million equity stake in video compression provider V-Nova.
It’s converting financing provided to the start-up in 2015 by Sky Italia. The Italian arm of the broadcaster and platform operator has been a long-term supporter of the company.
Italia began working with V-Nova in 2015, and has used its solutions for contribution.
Other investors in V-Nova include satellite operator Eutelsat.
In January 2017 V-Nova also acquired the full global patent portfolio of video imaging experts Faroudja Enterprises Inc.
