OTT platform provider Magine and content rights company Dinamedia has joined forces to launch a new subscription-based VOD service for Spanish movies.
The service, FlixOlé, will feature one of the world’s largest libraries of Spanish movies and will launch in Spain later this month before expanding globally to address Spanish language communities all over the world.
“There is a huge market for an aggregated service for Spanish movies, and together with Magine we now see an opportunity to use our global rights for our Spanish movie library, to be viewed on any smart TV’s and mobile screens all around the world.” says Sophie de Mac Mahon, CEO at Dinamedia.
“We have evaluated several ways of reaching this worldwide audience, and we have found the ideal partner in Magine, using their global OTT platform but also their experience of running OTT and VOD services in different markets.”
Magine has run its own consumer streaming services for TV and film since 2013 and over the past year, has also established itself as an OTT service provider for television companies and telecom operators worldwide. Earlier this year Magine also began investing in content and business concepts that require global distribution through the Magine streaming platform, and FlixOlé is the latest investment in the Magine Media Investments portfolio.
“With Dinamedia’s exclusive content rights for Spanish film and Magine’s global platform, we see a perfect match, and we believe there is a great opportunity for us to invest in and develop a global service with great content “ said Ambuj Goyal, CEO of Magine.
