Dutch anti-piracy organisation Brein is stepping up action against Dutch sellers of pre-installed Kodi mediaplayers.
Following the recent ruling by the European Court of Justice on ‘fully-loaded’ Kodi STBs, Brein is chasing sellers of the devices.
When suing sellers, Brein is asking the court for €2,000 damages per player sold, with a maximum of EUR50,000 per seller.
The organisation claims that around 190 sellers have now stopped their activities. In one case brought before a court, Brein settled with the sellers for €10,000. Negotiations with a number of other sellers are still ongoing.
