Bulgaria’s biggest telco Vivacom is investing in the development of its Earth station antenna field for VSAT Gateway co-location services and launching new Multiple Channels Per Carrier (MCPC) platforms with Eutelsat for Europe and Africa.
Speaking to Broadband TV News at NEM in Dubrovnik, Vladimir Rangelov, senior manager broadcasting services, Vivacom, added that the company has acquired additional 22,000 square meters of land to increase its coverage and providing new services.
It currently has one of the largest facilities for satellite communications in Eastern Europe – Plana teleport, with 50 C, Ku and DBS-Band antennas, up to 18.3 metres in diameter, used mainly for video uplink and downlink.
Vivacom operates a transmission business for content platforms and also provides TV DTH and IPTV services to retail customers.
