Altice has agreed to distribute Netflix on platforms in France, Portugal, Israel and Dominican Republic.
It’s the latest content investment by Altice, which has put money into original content, and the acquisition of series and movie rights.
Michel Combes, CEO, Altice said: “We are thrilled to launch our global partnership with Netflix. Our content centric experience strategy is to expand our commitment to provide the best content to our customers combining Netflix service into Altice customer’s life is making both more attractive.”
Netflix will be integrated into compatible devices across the Altice network. It’s the latest in a series of operator deals that began with Virgin Media in 2013.
Reed Hastings, CEO, Netflix added: “With this global partnership and thanks to more than 1,000 hours of new original Netflix content slated for 2017, Altice’s customers will be able to seamlessly access and enjoy all the best entertainment in one place.”
France will be the first Altice territory to launch Netflix with exclusive promotional SFR family offers debuting June 13.
The rollout will continue in other countries through 2017.
