The Slovak Office for Regulation of Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RU) has upheld a fine of EUR 100,000 for the M7 Group, who operates the Skylink platform in the country, for several administrative offenses.
M7 filed an appeal against the decision on the fine within the statutory time, but yhe chairman of the RU considered the contested decision of the RU to be in fact correct and lawful and the appeal was rejected. The decision came into force and M7 paid the fine.
One of the reasons for imposing the fine was the fact that M7 had not complied with the statutory obligation to inform subscribers of their right to withdraw from a contract without sanction if they did not accept a substantial change in the terms of the contract. Similarly, M7 did not provide the subscribers with any invoices for the services provided in electronic form or in paper form.
Another area under review was to assess the compliance of the General Terms and Conditions, and web site content with prescribed requirements. In this context, partial deficiencies have been identified in the complaint order.
Last month the Municipal Court in Prague upheld a record fine of CZK9.5 million (€358,000) imposed on the M7 Group.
