German multiscreen software provider 3 Screen Solutions (3SS) will deploy its new multi-device OTT front-end solution 3Ready on the first cable network in October 2017, managing director Kai-Christian Borchers told Broadband TV News at ANGA COM 2017 in Cologne.
A European cable operator will implement the front-end solution on its set-top-boxes, said Borchers. He declined to give further details at this stage, though.
Response from network operators regarding 3Ready had been very positive, said Borchers. The solution first presented in September 2016 comprises live TV including features such as restart TV and replay TV, catch-up TV, video-on-demand and apps.
3SS is built as a modular system from which network operators can select the features they want to offer to their customers and seamlessly integrate it with their backend system.
