German B2B service provider Purtel has set up an IPTV platform in collaboration with French streaming software provider Netgem as a white-label product for network operators.
With purTV, network operators can extend their internet and telephony offer into a triple play package. The multiscreen platform contains both linear television and non-linear services such as catch-up TV and transactional and subscription video-on-demand, time-shifted television, rewinding of currently running programmes and a smartphone/tablet connection through the purTV app.
For reception, Purtel offers a hybrid 4K set-top-box suitable in parallel for DVB-C broadcast signals and IPTV as unicast and multicast IP streams. The network operators’ existing head-ends can continue to be used for classic linear television while interactive services such as OTT content and pay-TV are supplied through the IP stream.
“We offer our customers a high-performance IPTV-as-a-service solution,” said Dr Markus von Voss, managing director of Purtel. “That’s clear added value for customer retention on all sides.”
70 partners, mainly regional network operators and public utility companies, already use the white-label internet and telephony products from Purtel and market them to their customers under their own brand.
Purtel and Netgem will perform live demonstrations of purTV’s capabilities at ANGA COM 2017 in hall 7 on stand H9.
