ABOX42 unveils dotIO smart home platform

May 29, 2017 08.16 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German set-top-box provider ABOX42 will demonstrate the company’s new dotIO smart home platform for pay-TV, internet and mobile operators at ANGA COM 2017 in Cologne.

The dotIO platform opens up new business models and revenue streams for operators by providing them with a complete, fully managed turnkey solution for distributing smart home services, according to ABOX42.

“With the margins for internet, telephony and TV services shrinking, operators have to look for another major revenue stream. Smart home services are a great opportunity from a monetisation standpoint, yet they can be complex to set up,” said Matthias Greve, CEO and founder of ABOX42. “Being a white-label solution, our new ABOX42 dotIO smart home platform eases those issues, enabling operators to quickly enter a new service space, create additional revenue streams and reduce churn.”

The ABOX42 dotIO end-to-end solution includes the ABOX42 H38 secure gateway, a number of sensors, a big data cloud service, mobile applications for iOS and Android devices and a real-time cockpit for service monitoring. It also provides operators with a set of ready-made subscription services based on defined use cases.

Using the dotIO solution, operators can roll out new services as an extension of their existing service portfolio and multi-service bundles to monetise upon the global operator smart home market which will be worth $62 billion (€55 billion) by 2020 according to a recent report from Strategy Analytics.

The fully customisable solution is operated and managed by ABOX42 24/7 and offers seamless integration with existing CRM and billing systems. Data is collected independent of customer information to ensure compliance with increased privacy concerns.

ABOX42 will demonstrate the dotIO platform at ANGA COM in hall 8 at booth R9. Additionally, the company will co-host the 5th edition IPTV/OTT industry breakfast on May 31 from 8.00 to 10.00 CET. The event is complimentary to attend, but space is limited. Reserve your seat at www.abox42.com/industrybreakfast or email industrybreakfast@abox42.com.
