Antena Group: a progress report

May 25, 2017 10.24 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The omni-channel approach adopted by Romania’s Antena Group is starting to pay dividends.

In a progress report about the recent activities of Intact’s TV division (including Antena Group) supplied to Broadband TV News, the company notes that its SVOD platform Antena Play now features 13 live channels and 125,000 hours of content.

Last year it had around 6 million views for catch-up TV shows and an average time of 1.5 hours per page for the most popular live channels.

The company notes that Antena Group’s multichannel presence spans TV, mobile and social, with digital services handled by its online division, Digital Antena Group.

Its services include a mix of free and paid web content, backed by social media platforms, among them 10 websites, 15 Facebook pages featuring special content related to key linear productions and seven mobile apps.

Online traffic amounts to approximately 10 million unique users per month and 50 million page views.

The company also says that Intact’s TV division’s move to new, purpose-built headquarters began in March 2016 and was completed in record time at the end of November last year.

A new management structure was also put into place last year. Isabella Carmu, former channel manager of the flagship Antena 1, was appointed general manager of Antena Group, while Claudia Ion, commercial director, stepped up to overtake Carmu’s responsibilities. Meanwhile, Cristian Ionescu, channel manager of Antena Stars, was appointed general deputy manager.
