The Croatian incumbent Hrvatski Telekom (HT) has launched a new generation of its MAXtv service.
According to the company, it is interactive, has all its functions integrated on mobile devices and boasts a new interface that offers users a unique TV experience. An equal quality TV experience is now available on all screens and full integration with the MAXtv and MAXtv Go services allows for fast and easy switching of viewed content between different screens at any time.
Through upgraded applications, users will be able to use their mobile devices as remote remote controls for the TV, simply switching content from the mobile device to a larger screen. Since MAXtv To Go has a movie, video and full spectrum of programmes like MAXtv, users get a total of three TVs, because they can simultaneously monitor different programmes on IPTV, smartphones and tablets via one account.
The revamped service includes a new set-top box, which will be provided to both new and existing subscribers. Furthermore, more channels, including local, sports and all HBO services, will be recordable.
HT notes that research by the Hendal agency shows that almost two-thirds of users now watch TV and video content via their smartphones, tablets and laptops and over a third of TV content is now viewed outside the home. Moreover, up to 90% of viewers surf the internet while watching TV. MAXtv combines these experiences in a unique way.
The research also shows that half of respondents express a need to introduce a personalised referral systems for their viewing.
