Ralf Bartoleit new CEO of maxdome

May 18, 2017 09.14 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Ralf Bartoleit, Co-CEO of ProSiebenSat.1 Digital, will become new CEO of maxdome.

With the move, ProSiebenSat.1 wants to integrate the video-on-demand (VOD) service more closely in its corporate video and distribution strategy, according to the German media company.

Bartoleit who will take over the new position in addition to his current function succeeds Marvin Lange who leaves ProSiebenSat.1 after four years to take on a new challenge.

Filmon Zerai, previously co-CEO of maxdome next to Lange, left the VOD service on March 1, 2017, to join the management board of parent company ProSiebenSat.1 as the new Chief Digital Officer.

After Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, maxdome is the third-largest VOD service in Germany. ProSiebenSat.1 CEO Thomas Ebeling recently affirmed that the company would hold onto maxdome despite red figures for strategic reasons. ProSiebenSat.1 expects maxdome to become profitable at the end of this year.
