Vodafone had 7.7 million TV customers in Germany in the year ending March 31.
In its latest set of results, the company notes that it launched its ‘Giga TV’ advanced digital TV service in February and that its fixed service revenues were driven by strong broadband growth, with 320,000 of the 433,000 net additions over the year being on cable.
Meanwhile in Spain, Vodafone ended March with 1.3 million TV customers, representing a 246,000 increase on a year earlier. Its fully integrated Vodafone One service had 2.4 million customers, having gained 1.5 million over the previous 12 months.
Vodafone also notes that Vodafone TV is gaining traction in Italy, where it was launched in March this year.
In addition, it says that as of the end of March it had a total of 9.8 million TV customers, though this figure rose to 13.8 million if VodafoneZiggo was included. Excluding VodafoneZiggo, it gained 200,000 TV customers in the year to March 31.
Vodafone group’s revenues in the year (2017) to March 31 amounted to €47.631 billion, 4.4% down on a year earlier.
Adjusted EBITDA was €14.149 billion (+5.8%) and the loss grew to €6.079 billion (+18.7%).
