Apple is rumoured to announce the addition of Amazon Prime video app to Apple TV devices during the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 5.
The two companies have been at odds over the issue, after Amazon decided to stop selling Apple TV devices (as well as Google Chromecast) in 2015, because it didn’t have thw Amazon Prime Videp app. At the time, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said Apple did not offer “acceptable business terms” for them to develop a tvOS app.
“It’s important that the streaming media players we sell interact well with Prime Video in order to avoid customer confusion,” Amazon also said at the time. “Over the last three years, Prime Video has become an important part of Prime,” Amazon recently told Bloomberg.
If the rumours prove to be true, it means that the two firms have officially come to an agreement that will let users watch any shows via the Prime Video app on their Apple TV.
