Poland’s TVP has signed a cooperation agreement with Sichuan-based Chengdu Radio and Television, one of the leading broadcasters in China.
It envisages the two parties working together in three areas, namely the exchange of programming, co-productions and exchange of good practices and education.
Commenting on the development, TVP board member Maciej Stanecki, who signed the deal on behalf of the Polish broadcaster, said: “Poland’s increasingly strong cooperation with China has created a growing interest in the country among viewers of TVP. Our intention, in connection with the signing of a cooperation agreement with TV Chengdu, is to show Western China in the best way for Poles to come to your country. We want to help bring viewers closer to Chinese culture and economy in order to establish cooperation with Chengdu – the fastest growing city in the world. Today, Poland is known mainly for food products in China. Now it is time to add Polish culture”.
