German telco Deutsche Telekom has won 76,000 new customers for its IPTV platform Entertain TV in Q1 2017.
The growth was much stronger than in previous quarters. In the same period in 2016, 53,000 new Entertain TV customers were added. In total, the IPTV service now reaches almost 3 million households.
Telekom also reported growth in the broadband market: The number of fibre-optic-based subscriptions (FTTH/FTTC/vectoring) rose in Q1 2017 by 775,000 – the strongest growth within a quarter.
Turnover increased in Germany in Q1 2017 compared with Q1 2016 by 0.2% to €5.4 billion, the EBITDA rose by 0.9% to €2.1 billion.
