Russia’s advertising market was worth R92 billion (€1.46 billion) in the first quarter, or 13% more than in the corresponding period last year.
Quoting data produced by the Association of Communications Agencies of Russia (AKAR), Kommersant reports that this was more than what experts had predicted, with growth noted in all segments except print.
TV remained the most popular medium, attracting R39.1-39.6 billion, or 10% more than in Q1 2016.
Niche channels claimed R1.03 billion (+40%) of this total, with main TV services the remaining R38 billion (+9%).
Internet spend, estimated at R34.5-35.5 billion, was the fastest growing segment (+23%).
