The new German thematic channel Health TV will launch on May 15, 2017 on Astra (19.2° East).
The satellite transmission will be handled by technical service provider Media Broadcast Satellite. Health TV will broadcast unencrypted on the frequency 12.633 GHz H (SR 22,000, FEC 5/6). Currently, a test signal is being shown.
Health TV, back then under the working title Gesund.TV, received the green light from the media regulators in November 2016.
The channel wants to target viewers of all age groups with information and entertainment programmes on health, wellbeing and medical topics. In addition to Astra, Health TV will also be available on cable, IPTV and the internet.
The channel’s parent company German Health TV is a subsidiary of Asklepios group, one of the largest German operators of private hospitals and health care facilities.
