Canal+ Group has signed an exclusive licence with CBS to screen content from US premium channel Showtime.
The contract includes at least 10 current or future series including the reboot of David Lynch series Twin Peaks. Canal will also have the exclusive rights to Dexter, Nurse Jackie, Ray Donovan, The Affair and Californication.
Maxime Saada, Managing Director of Canal + Group, said: “We are delighted to be able to extend our longstanding relationship with CBS around the original Showtime series, which have been very successful among our subscribers since we started broadcasting Dexter in 2007. We can only admire the quality and variety of their programs and the characters they know how to create, and we are delighted to be able to introduce them to the widest French audience.”
The long-term agreement also includes French-speaking Africa, Switzerland and Monaco.

Showtime has other international agreements with Sky, Bell (Canada), STAN (Australia) and Movistar (Spain), amongst others.
