Virgin Media expands international TV offer

April 25, 2017 11.07 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Virgin Media has added three new countries to its Worldbox app, making a host of international TV channels from Poland, France and Russia available for both new and existing customers from today (April 25).

Its new Polish Impreza collection will offer TVP Polonia, TVN International, ITVN Extra and Kino Polska International. Customers will also be able to access Kino Polska Muzyka, TVP Info and TVN24 as basic channels.

Meanwhile, French Bouquet will offer four channels – three (France 2, France 3 and France 5) from the public broadcaster France Télévisions and Cartoon TV French. Russian Premiyera will provide viewers with Planeta HD, Bestseller, RTR Planeta and Moolt, to be followed shortly by another six channels, including THT Comedy and NTV Mir.

The three new packs join the recently launched Spanish and Portuguese packs on the Worldbox.

Commenting on the development, David Bouchier, chief digital entertainment officer at Virgin Media, said: “We’re excited to be expanding yet again our fantastic collection of international TV channels so Virgin TV customers, who may have come from outside the UK, can enjoy their familiar TV from around the world. Our most recent expansion covers a number of European countries. Customers joining Virgin Media will be able to watch five great new international collections on our new V6 box, marrying the latest and smartest technology with the very best TV programmes.”
