German media company ProSiebenSat.1 will integrate Cantemo’s media asset management system Portal as part of an infrastructure modernisation project streamlining its digital media workflows.
The three-phase initiative will see the Swedish company’s solution becoming ProSiebenSat.1’s primary media management platform, replacing legacy systems used for digital media management and distribution workflows.
Also closely involved in the project are media backbone platform developer Vidispine, video technology development company and consultancy Codemill and Dimensional, developers of concepts for projects and applications.
Phase one of the project will involve Portal’s provision of content and order services as a unified content platform. Portal will track the progress of licensed content, ensuring upon ingestion that metadata tags are adhered to throughout the life of the content. Content thus is automatically sent to the appropriate destination, according to Cantemo.
Portal will also replace ProSiebenSat.1’s existing acquisition workflows as part of stage two of the project, expected to take place later this year. Portal will then handle ingestion, quality control, media management and distribution to playout management, specifically for linear TV as well as OTT platforms.
Phase three concluding the project is expected to reach completion in the second half of 2018.
