The Czech national transmission company CRa expanded DVB-T2 services, hitherto available in Prague, to the Ostrava and Brno regions.
As a result, they can now be received by 43% of the population.
At the same time, it has added Ocko Expres, Barrandov Family and TV Noe to the list of channels being distributed via DVB-T2.
The CRa says that DVB-T2 will be introduced in other parts of the country in the coming months and 99% coverage achieved by spring 2018, with the transition to the standard being completed by 2020.
It adds that terrestrial TV services are the only ones that are free in the Czech Republic and are received in 60% of the country’s households.
