German OTT service TV Spielfilm live has added a restart function to its platform enabling viewers to set back a currently running TV programme to the start.
The new feature is available to all premium customers and covers all major TV channels including public broadcasters ARD and ZDF as well as commercial TV groups RTL and ProSiebenSat.1.
Restart TV is initially accessible on smartphones, tablets and all TV apps with the web browser version to follow shortly.
“With TV Spielfilm live, viewers can watch television online anywhere, anytime and on any screen – completely without cable or DTT. Through the new feature, the streaming service will. become the perfect alternative for TV reception more than ever,” said Matthias Kohtes, managing director of TV Spielfilm live.
Since its launch in July 2015, more than 1.8 million users signed up for the OTT service powered by Zattoo. Each day, around 2,000 to 5,000 new users register. No details are given on the number of paying customers.
