Russia’s Orion Group is set to become a distributor of SPI International channels in the country.
According to Kommersant, it has received broadcast licences for seven SPI channels and will distribute them in both its own satellite TV packages and among cable operators.
Quoting Kirill Makhnovsky, the general director of Orion, it adds that the contract between the two parties is for a period of three years and that Orion plans to take the level of penetration of SPI channels up to 30% of Russian households by the end of this year.
The channels to be distributed by Orion are FilmBox, FilmBox Arthouse, Docubox, Fashionbox, Fightbox, Fast & Funbox and Erox.
Orion is one of the leading DTH platform operators in Russia.
