Liberty Global regards extending its fixed network in Central and Eastern European countries it operates in as a “critical” objective.
Speaking to ZF, Severina Pascu, the CEO of UPC in Central and Eastern Europe, added that the company hopes to undertake this expansion through both organic growth and acquisitions.
Last year, it extended the reach of its fixed network in Romania alone by almost 300,000 households.
Pascu said that such expansion in the CEE markets Liberty is present in – Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania – is one of the company’s three key objectives.
As part of its strategy, the company integrated its marketing functions at a regional level from March 1 this year.
UPC’s CEE operations have combined revenues of €1 billion and over 9 million subscribers to fixed and mobile services.
