Vivendi could be in effective control of Telecom Italia after a shareholder meeting next month.
Reuters reports that in order to do so it will need to get its list of nominees approved by the majority of shareholders.
It’s looking to win two-thirds of seats on the board.
The disclosure, made to the European Commission, may not do Vivendi any favours in its other project to take command of the separate Mediaset Premium business.
Only in January was the prospect of Vivendi selling its Telecom Italia stake raised.
