Ownzones Media Network (OMN) has signed an agreement with Amazon to make Ownzones available on the Amazon Fire TV Stick.
As a result of the deal, which was announced by OMN’s CEO Dan Goman, the number of Ownzones app offerings has been increased to 11 platforms in less than 12 months and strengthened the options for the company’s White Label apps solutions.
It has also enhanced OMN’s existing relationship with Amazon, where Ownzones is already offered as an SVOD channel.
Commenting on the development, Goman said: “The Amazon Fire TV Stick is a natural fit for our growing content offering, which fulfills an underserved audience of film and TV fans by providing affordable niche-genre and vintage fare, as well as engaging DIY and how-to titles.
“Our consumers and business partners alike will benefit from this alliance, and we look forward to working with Amazon to create a valuable and compelling slate.”
OMN recently announced an agreement to become a preferred provider of applications for Metrological’s Application Platform, which reaches over 40 million households worldwide via set-top boxes and other operator devices.
Metrological cable and telecommunications partners include Comcast, KPN, Liberty Global, Tele Columbus and Ooredoo.
