Danish cablenet Stofa is to run iWedia’s Teatro-3.5 solution on its next-gen TV box.
The announcement was made at TV Connect in London (March 28 to 30).
Teatro-3.5 will run alongside Android TV 7.0 Nougat, and is integrated with a Conditional Access Systems (CAS), and operates a quad cable tuners 4K STB provided by Korean manufacturer Kaon Media.
“We are honored and delighted to have been selected by Stofa to provide the software of their next-gen Android TV box,” says Nikola Teslic, CTO at iWedia. “Thanks to Teatro-3.5 Stofa can use Android TV as a vehicle for their own premium services and provide their subs with the best out of both worlds”.
Teatro-3.5 is a complete software solution for set-tops operating on Android TV. It is based on iWedia ANDROID4TV framework which extends Android TV with broadcast and multicast Pay TV functionalities implemented as input modules of the Android TV Input Framework (TIF).
The new TV box is set for an autumn launch.
