SERAPHIC makes key HbbTV 2 move

March 27, 2017 17.28 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

SERAPHIC has launched an integrated HbbTV 2 solution in partnership with MStar.

Based on its Sraf HTML5 browser, it is pre-integrated with MStar’s STB SoCs and has just been demoed at CCBN 2017, the largest broadcasting technology and equipment exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region.

Commenting on the development, Gigi Ma, marketing director at MStar, said: “We are excited to be working with SERAPHIC, our longtime trustworthy partner, to launch the integrated HbbTV 2 solution at CCBN this year.

“It will save the prior R&D efforts of STB manufacturers and enable them to provide outstanding interactive experience in a shorten period.”

Xinwen Xue, VP product management of SERAPHIC, added: “It’s our honour to partner with MStar in this field. Both Mstar and SERAPHIC have devoted a lot of efforts and resources in HbbTV solution since very early time. Today it is great to see that we together can provide strong support to meet HbbTV 2 requirements from STB manufacturers. Also I strongly believe that HbbTV 2 will be widely deployed in more and more countries and regions very soon.”
