Erstream and Jordan Media City announce partnership

March 19, 2017 11.53 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Erstream has announced a collaboration with the largest media hub in the Middle East, Jordan Media City (JMC).

Privately owned media company JMC has chosen to partner with Erstream to offer a new OTT streaming solution across all devices, geographies, and time zones.

The OTT streaming solution will include end-to-end services from downlink, cloud encoding, content management, Statistics, Catch-up TV, cloud TV & NPVR, Live & VOD streaming CDN and client application development with tailor-made architectures. By integrating Erstream’s streaming software technology and selected content protection services, JMC will offer its customers a complete broadcast cycle from satellite to hundreds of thousands of devices and viewers online.

“As quality of content remains a key factor in success for TV channels, a well-established second screen experience is a must now for monetizing the content and attracting more viewers from around the world,” commented Ugur Kalaba, CEO, Erstream.

“We are are happy to joint venture with Jordan Media City in delivering valuable content with high protection needs and high concurrencies. This partnership further strengthens our presence in the Middle East region allowing us to lower operational costs thus enabling JMC to offer maximum service quality at competitive prices.”

“We serve as a global satellite and fibre content distribution service provider and offer uplink to satellites covering the Arab World, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa; downlink and turnaround services; playout of television content services; satellite news gathering (SNG), and sports and other feed services,” added Jordan Media City’s CEO Mr Radi Alkhas.

“We partnered with Erstream as we continue to diversify our service offerings to take advantage of the rapidly growing demand and exploding audience for OTT content. We believe our joint operations will allow us to gain valuable know-how in online streaming solutions and CDN technologies while enabling our customers expand their businesses with minimized costs and enhanced features.”
