TalkTalk plans to update its mobile TV experience this summer, offering its 1.3 million TV customers a more streamlined platform.
The telco is working with CSG International to integrate the Ascendon digital platform with the intention of helping customers watch more content both in and out of the home.
Speaking at the Mobile World Congress, Aleks Habdank, managing director, TalkTalk TV, said the partnership would help speed the growth of mobile TV. “The integration of the Ascendon platform complements a number of recent innovations aimed at delivering a faster, more intuitive and seamless TV experience. We led the market by being the first provider to roll out the Next Generation YouView upgrade, which the majority of our customers are already enjoying, and earlier this month, TalkTalk was named TV Provider of the Year in a public vote.”
Viewers will also be able to take advantage of new app features such as the ability to pre-order films, and a newly-created ‘Season Pass’ feature, which provides access to multiple box sets in a single purchase.
TalkTalk said it would give more detail ahead of the rollout this summer.
