Slovak Telekom will withdraw the Czech Republic’s Nova channels from its offer on March 1.
In their place, reports Zive, viewers will be able to watch Nova International, a service aimed specifically at viewers in Slovakia.
The channels affected by the change, which is part of a wider move in the industry being mirrored in the Czech Republic, are Nova, Nova Cinema, Nova Action, Nova 2 and Nova Gold.
Zive notes that the DTH platform freeSAT has already withdrawn Nova channels from its line-up and another operator may also do so this Wednesday (March 1).
To compensate viewers for the loss of the Nova channels, Slovak Telekom is making Digi Sport in HD, Tuki TV and FilmBox Premium available free of charge in March, with other channels set to follow in April.
It will also start to offer the movie channels Cinemax 1 and Cinemax 2 on April 1.
