Direct One has closed the acquisition of the Bucharest underground fibre-optic infrastructure operator Netcity Telecom.
According to Business Review, this marks the end of a process that begun in 2015 and Netcity Telecom, a neutral operator, will contimue to exist as a stand-alone entity responsible for Netcity following the signing of an agreement with the Bucharest municipality.
Netcity Telecom was formerly owned by UTI Netcity Investments and UTI Grup, while Direct One is part of the Electrogrup group of companies, whose assets include a national fibre-optic network in Romania over 5,500km long.
