Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal, has pulled the plug out of Al Arab, the 24-hour Arabic-language satellite news channel.
The reasons for the decision to shut down Al Arab are not known, the Arab news site Manama said.
Al Arab launched on February 1, 2015, from its headquarters in Bahrain. The new channel claimed to bring “an objective, fresh and unbiased view of world events,” but the newly channel was off air just hours after it launched. Bahrain’s Information Affairs Authority (IAA) said it had suspended Al-Arab “following its failure to obtain the required licensing approval to commence broadcasting in Bahrain.”
