The Romanian regulator ANCOM has given two companies the go ahead to participate in what will be the country’s fourth DTT tender.
In a statement, ANCOM says that the winner of the contest, between Timisoara-based Nova Media and M Plus Investments, which is located in Iasi, will be announced on February 13.
The tender covers two national, 26 regional and 18 local multiplexes that have been allocated in previous proceedings.
The cost of the licences, which vary from €1,000 (local) to €300,000 (national), was established by the government in 2014 and remains unchanged.
All are valid for a period of 10 years, with the winners allowed to launch services immediately and at the same time being required to operate a certain number of transmitters within one or two years.
In the earlier tenders, ANCOM awarded three national, 12 regional and one local multiplex, the former to the national transmission company SNR.
