Skylink/O2 to boost Czech offers

January 27, 2017 08.44 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Skylink will shortly add another time-shifted channel to its offer in the Czech Republic.

Parabola reports that the Czech regulator RRTV has awarded a satellite and cable licence to Joj Cinema+1, a channel operated by Magical roof s.r.o. and aimed at male viewers.

It will be distributed from Astra 3B at 23.5 degrees East and join Skylink’s time-shifted offer, which already includes Prima+1 HF and Joj+1 HD.

Significantly, Skylink is still the only DTH platform in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to include time-shifted channels in its line-up.

Separately, the Czech incumbent has announced plans to add none more HD channels to its O2 TV service in February.

Five of the channels – Ceskoslovensko/Festival HD, Joj Cinema HD, Joj Family HD, Prima Max HD and Film+HD – will join the line-up at the beginning of the month, with the remaining four following later.

By the end of February, O2TV’s line-up will include 47 channels in the HD format.
