A new music channel named Rock TV is set to make its debut in Poland this spring.
Press.pl reports Nowa Media, a group majority (51%) owned by Michal Winnicki, has submitted a request to the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for a licence.
It adds that Michal Winnicki Entertainment, Winnicki’s own company, already operates two music channels (Power TV and Nuta.tv), along with the documentary-based Adventure and children’s Top Kids.
There are already over a dozen Polish music channels, with the most popular being ZPR Media’s Polo TV.
According to Nielsen Audience Measurement, it had a share of 0.83% in 2016.
Hip Hop TV, which is also operated by ZPR Media, made its debut in 2016 and ended the year with the lowest rating.
