Both Dutch operators KPN and T-Mobile have slashed the price of their OTT TV services to EUR9.99 per month.
The basic tier of T-Mobile’s Knippr previously cost EUR10.99. The standard package includes the most popular Dutch channels, restart programmes, live pause and seven-day catch-up. Customers can add more channels a la carte.
KPN’s Play’s original monthly price was was EUR15, for a basic tier of 23 channels, seven-day catch-up, 200 hours of recording and a VoD library of more than 300 titles. Until December 31, 2016, the offer also includes three HBO channels, but since HBO terminated its linear channels in the Netherlands, this is no longer the case.
The OTT offer of the two operators is aimed at the cord-cutters market, but this recent price movement might indicate that consumer response is lukewarm.
