The Czech national transmission company Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa) is preparing to introduce several new features for HbbTV users.
According to Rozhlas.cz, they may include multiscreen functions, using devices such as mobile phones and tablets. One possibility may be to use a QR code.
The new features will be adopted by the major Czech broadcasters such as CT, Prima, Nova and Ocko, along with TV Barrandov and Slagr TV, as soon as the first quarter of this year.
Broadband TV News notes that the Czech Republic is probably the most advanced market in HbbTV deployment in the CEE region.
Although publicly owned CT has played a pioneering role, it is now used by all the country’s leading broadcasters.
