Orange Slovakia plans to invest €36 million on its fibre-optic network over the next two years, according to Alexandra Piskunová, the company’s spokesperson.
Speaking to Zive, she added that this would increase its coverage from the current 20 to around 60 cities by 2018.
Piskunová also said that Orange Slovakia was planning some major changes to its TV offer this year including the introduction of a new set-top box and improvements to the FiberTV service. In addition she revealed that the company’s mobile TV service already has around 30,000 customers who are not connected to its fixed network and that further improvements, including the addition of more channels, are planned for the service.
Asked about Markiza TV’s decision to stop DVB-T distribution at the beginning of this year and the station possibly charging more for the distribution of its channels, Piskunová said that Orange TV continues to offer those channels but may move them to different or new packages.
