CES 2017. AccuWeather is launching the AccuWeather Amazon Fire TV app.
The AccuWeather app for Fire TV provides customers with patented AccuWeather MinuteCast, a minute-by-minute precipitation forecast hyper-localised by viewing location.
Precipitation types include rain, snow, ice, mixed precipitation, and newly added hail conditions. Personalised minute-by-minute updates include precipitation type and intensity, as well as start and end times, for the next two hours.
The new app also gives users access to a library of breaking weather videos, ranging from on-site severe weather reports to in-studio forecasts. The dark theme feature allows users to adapt the screen background based on their lighting conditions for a personalised app experience.
The AccuWeather app for Fire TV features customisable local weather forecasts including temperature, wind speed, and more, as well as severe weather alerts to keep people informed and safe. Available in over 30 languages, the app allows Fire TV users to access weather information and updates when and where ever they need it worldwide.
“AccuWeather continues to expand our global weather leadership across platforms with the new AccuWeather app for Amazon Fire TV,” said Steven Smith, president of digital media at AccuWeather.
“The AccuWeather app has been developed and customized for the Fire TV experience, providing owners with critical life-saving weather information and updates from AccuWeather. It is another way AccuWeather is personalizing the weather so people can improve their lives.”
