Eight out of ten pay-TV subscribers in Spain opt for a package of services, with quintuple play by far the most popular.
Data produced by the regulator CNMC shws that as of the end of Q2 2016 there were 5.85 million pay-TV subscribers, or 102,000 more than three months earlier.
Of the total, 4.88 million (83.4%), or 209,000 more than three months earlier, opted a package.
The fastest growing of these packages (+298,000 on the previous quarter), quintuple play, was chosen by 4.2 milion subscribers.
Pay-TV revenues in Q2 amounted to €686.2 million, compared to €515 million in the corresponding period in 2015.
Free-TV revenues fell meanwhile increased from €492 million to €548.9 million over the same period.
