Digital Media Centre (DMC), which is part of AMC Networks International, has appointed Mark Beard as its commercial director.
In this role, he will be leading the sales, marketing and account management activities, as part of the growth strategy of DMC.
According to DMC, the ambition is to position it as the leading European media gateway, network operations and management centre, delivering software-defined, cloud-broadcast solutions.

Whilst at Ericsson, he was head of the UK region and worked closely on BBC, ITV and Channel 4 accounts. Previously, he worked on the London 2012 Olympics, Ascent Media, BBC and Globecast, where he held various commercial and strategic development roles.
Commenting on the development, Raymond Lamphen, newly appointed general manager of DMC, said: “Mark joins DMC as we develop the depth and breadth of our services to the European broadcast industry. Mark’s expertise will help position DMC to be able to be at the forefront of broadcast services for the foreseeable future and will help provide the best client services in the industry.”
