The total number of FTTH lines in Spain exceeded 4.5 million as of the end of October, according to data published by the regulator CNMC.
In October, the number of FTTH lines increased by 155,180. The data shows that Movistar accounted for 63.1% of the total number of FTTH lines, equivalent to 2.9 million, as of the end of October.
Significantly, the number of FTTH lines increased by 1.8 million in the year to October, whole the number of DSL lines fell by 1.4 million in the same period.
Meanwhile, the cable (HFC) total increased by 158,000 in the year to October 31.
In the fixed sector, Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including Ono) accounted for 95% of all lines.
Vodafone saw its total increase the most (+32,600) in October, followed by Orange (+27,400), while Movistar registered a fall (-1,700).
