The figure of 26.7% compared to that of 24.4% on the same date in 2015.
Meanwhile, fixed broadband penetration rose from 72.7% to 76.1% in the year to June 30. Significantly, of the 76.1%, over a third (36.2%) had a fibre-optic connection, a 13 percentage point increasse on a year earlier.
Furthermore, over a quarter (28%) of households had a smart TV, a 17.3% increase on a year earlier. Expenditure on telecom services in general increased moderately, for dual packages (telephony and fixed broadband) and quad (fixed and mobile telephony, fixed and mobile broadband) by 3.5% to €40.1 and €47.8 a month respectively.
Total expenditure of homes opting for quad packs was €65.4 a month (+3.4% year-on-year) and €89.3 (+3.8%) for quintuple packs, which included pay-TV.
The most popular combination of services was fixed and mobile telephony and internet, received by 50.3% of homes.
Just over a quarter (25.3%) opted for the next most popular, namely fixed and mobile telephony, internet and pay-TV.
