The Russian DTH platform NTV-Plus has starting selling what it describes as a fundamentally new hybrid set-top box.
Produced as a result of cooperation with Kaonmedia, the VA 1020 allows for the reception of linear TV and a number of popular OTT services, as well as give access to additional services such as VOD, catch-up, pause and rewind.
Users can also access the RuNet online library of movies, TV series and programmes.
The basic cost of the receiver is R6,990 (€102.9), reduced to R5,990 if bought before January 31, 2017. It also includes the first month’s subscription to NTV-Plus’s Interactive TV service, which usually cost R300 a month, free of charge.
NTV-Plus is part of Gazprom Media and the longest established DTH platform in Russia, having madedc its debut in the mid-1990s.
