Cable Communications Systems, the parent company of Romania’s RCS&RDS (Digi), had an operating profit of €20.6 million in the third quarter.
This, according to Telecompaper and ZF, was 9% more than in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, its revenues rose by 12% to €212 million, driven by growth in the TV customer base in Romania and Hungary, as well as mobile subscribers in Romania and Spain.
Significantly, DTH and fixed telephony were the only two business segments in which the company did not register any subscriber growth.
The number of cable TV subscribers in Romania as the the end of Q3 stood at 2.821 million (+4.8% year-on-year), while in Hungary it was 467,000 (+9.4%).
